Semicyber joins the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C)
McLean, VA – Mar 9, 2020 – Semicyber is excited to be part of the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C), and part of the future quantum economy. Semicyber is positioning quantum computing as the leading technology to advance breakthroughs in engineering, science, and technology. Advances in quantum applications are emerging at an accelerating pace and around the world—promising the ability to solve problems beyond the reach of current computers, ultra-sensitive measurements, and provably secure communications.
The U.S. National Quantum Initiative Act (NQI) passed in December 2018 not only calls for agencies to fund research, it also envisioned a consortium of businesses and other stakeholders to ensure the NQI coordinates and collaborates with the private sector.
QED-C, which aims to enable and grow the U.S. quantum industry and associated supply chain, has over 100 participants, including Semicyber. QED-C brings industry together to identify high impact applications and gaps in the enabling technologies, standards, and “quantum ready” workforce needed to realize those applications. QED-C also provides an industry voice to the government agencies that have a role in advancing quantum information science and technology.
